The materials I am working with are head scarves, varying in size, color, origin and function. Head scarves which could be worn by men or women. They give shelter. They are traditional or religious garments. They represent a tool of political protest or are simply a fashionable accessory.

Primarily I will work with donated head scarves.

In addition I will buy specific ones myself.

Head scarves are knotted together, they are bordering a room.
The room opens to one side.
Beginning and ends of the scarf string are loose.
The knots are both limit and link.
The span between two knots represents individual freedom.
The suspended ends have individual lengths which belong to different, unseen rooms.

It is a project on tolerance. It is not a project on head scarves.

The project is still a work in progress. The intention is ultimately create an installation.
